History
In the beginning:
In 1979 Jens, (slim) and Dorothy Bach started Slimdor Holdings Ltd.
After purchasing equipment they began work on their first project,
the reclamation project of 3000 acres Canmore Coal mines. Slimdor
Holdings then acquired a major mining contract for Steele Brothers
Canada in the Bow Valley area. Slimdor held this contract until
1982.
In 1982, Slimdor Holdings was again the successful bidder for a new
raw materials mining contract for Lafarge Canada Exshaw cement plant.
The contract included extraction and transportation of shale, sandstone
and limestone from the local quarries to the Exshaw cement plant.
In 1988, Slim sold his company to his son Rich. Over the years,
the mining contract at Lefarge had expanded to include processing,
producing, selling and hauling of limestone rip rap also hauling of
Cement Kiln Dust, as well as on and off site miscellaneous onsite work.
Some of this work includes the excavation of building projects and the
construction and maintenance of class 3 municipal landfills. Slimdor
has also held long term contracts with Alberta Environmental Protection such as;
flood protection, riverbank restoration, trail maintenance, construction of campgrounds and underground utilities work.
Today:
In 2003, Slimdor Contracting ltd. Arrived and invested more interested more interest
in the Calgary market place. Bidding on various earthworks and underground utilities
contracts. Since that time, Slimdor Contracting Ltd. has had tremendous growth currently employing 80+ employees.
Slimdor Contracting Ltd. is working on numerous projects in the City of Calgary and surrounding areas.
